Common Well Pump Repair Issues
Repairing Electrical Problems
Many of the customers of Price Well Drilling Inc often ask us how to prevent well pump repair, to begin with, and what are the signs they need to look out for. So we wrote this brief blog with a few tips for people living outside of the Hickory, NC area. Your water pump could have a problem with its electrical system. So in order to check this, try first inspecting the circuit breakers and wires that are connected to the pump. And reset the electricity by flipping the breakers. Should you see a burned out fuse, simply remove it and put in a new one. Then go and check your pump to see if it is working again.
When the water is coming, then the fuse was the problem. However, when water still does not come out, check the wires and cables which run out of the fuse box and down into the well. The problem could be a damaged wire when you have made sure the problem is not related to the power, you need to check your water pump.
Repair Issue With the Motor
When your water pump is not working, then the cause could be the motor. You could also have a faulty starter switch, should it be the latter, then you will need to replace the starter switch. Switch off the power supply and clean the pressure switch with some paper as it could either be dirty or obstructed.
Fixing Water Delivery
Another common issue with your pump is it no longer delivers water, even when the motor and everything else is working. In cases such as this, your pump could have encountered various different problems.
Again, switch off the power supply and remove the priming plug to see if the pipe has any water in it. When there is none, the prime could have been lost and you will need to prime it again. The cause of the problem could also be a burnt-out circuit breaker, should this be the case, replace the damaged circuit breaker with a new one.
